In Luridity #2 - Beginning Again
The December Update includes information and updates on October and November articles and projects, plus a sneak peek and an oracle card reading for the future!
Welcome! Yep, it’s your December update for the cyberpunk & sci-fi erotic romance galaxy of Luridity, where love is love and life is lived.
Still trying out Substack, seeing if it’s the platform that will work for us. 😀 The time has come though: I just have to run with something or I’ll be stuck in decision limbo.

The upcoming end to 2022 is somewhat bittersweet. I started the year recovering from major surgery, and then moved into recovering from…well, 10 years of chronic pain, lots of bedrest, and relearning how to do a LOT of things. Each new accomplishment this year, however silly they might sound, has been a moment of joy: I filled the washer myself! I walked down the stairs without my cane! I emptied the dishwasher and didn’t crumble into a ball for hours afterward!
The joy came with a “what the heck do I do with myself now?” and the realization that I don’t know how to be me AND pain free. What a problem to have, right? Thing is, I’m coming off of 10 years of that hellscape, so most of the year has just been impatiently (and delusionally) thinking I can just pick up where I left off, realizing that is very not the case, recovering for a week, and then doing it again. 😂 Now that I see what’s happening, I’m taking a more “from scratch” approach, and defining new ways forward.
To that end, working forward means no more holding back, and with the caveat “while respecting my energy and within boundaries of self-care and continued recovery”, that is my plan for 2023.
Well, that and following the philosophy of “Don’t write for an imaginary audience - write for yourself, your dick, and your six closest friends that will respond with a dozen fire emojis and an exploding gif.*”
*and for thirsty historians/archaeologists of the future who will discover your work and make all sorts of assumptions.
(Why yes, my good fellows, there are plenty of “roommates” in Luridity.)
I hope your December brings joy, love, and spicy holiday reads!
In Luridity Redesign
November was a month of shinies! Most excellent friend and designer TJ Trewin (yes, the very same genius behind The Cackling Cock’s neon signboard) tackled an overhaul of Luridity’s look. My request? “Make it SEXY!” And whew! Did he ever! Luridity now is awash with luxe purples and magenta, hints of silk and curtains, extravagant yet tasteful jewelry, and mysteryyyy. *fans self*
I like to imagine Fate getting ahold of its new code and going “why helloooo my pretty” and flirting with the website itself…
In Luridity’s Playlist
Sizzling electronic notes, steady thumping bass, sultry jazz, tongue-in-cheek or overt solicitations…that’s our Galaxy’s beat. Since the official playlist is almost 200 songs by now, I figure I’ll just share a taste. 🎷😏
Cyberpunk! Nodded to this one in WorldEmber Pledge article subtitle.
Horny - Hot ’n’ Juicy & Mousse T.
Self-explanatory, a sentiment echoed by most of Luridity’s main characters…and also possibly Fate’s personal theme song.
Hinata's Futuretales
Luridity’s resident fortuneteller and dreamwalker has a reading today about Luridity’s recent past, present, and future!
The Dark Figure
Just like the cloaked figure here, October was quite secretive, because Dani was working on a fun TTRPG holiday one-shot, set in Luridity! 😁 It’s safe for reading at work and features pre-made furry characters and fun mechanics. It released on the WorldAnvil ADVENTure calendar on December 1st and you can read (and play!) it on Luridity’s site now.
The Distant Walled City
If the stars are wishes and dreams, that faroff city holds the more concrete goals forged from them. It’s where Luridity is heading, and right now, Dani is standing at the peak of a road with a clear, if distant, destination. She’s literally building new navigation and roads for readers to follow as well this month as she travels ever closer to the surrounding—
ERROR ERROR AUTHOR BRAIN INTRUSION
oh gods don’t type ladymoat, don’t type ladymoat...
Ahem. Where were we? Right: the up—OUT—outskirts. Of the city. *coughs* Quick, have an article! (That one takes you to the video series Dani released, a short Spooktober story written for and read to you!)
The Fairy Ring
Bright, tempting, promising things. If you’re hoping to step in, enter a new world, and escape there for a while, you’re in luck; that is exactly what the future holds. Eeee! SHINY!
Moar?
How did you like the read? Good stuff? Anything you want more of? Less? Different? Smash reply or message me on Discord or Mastodon (links below) to let me know!
Until next time,

You're doing amazing! And I look forward to more peeks at the website upgrade!
